Appointments with an attorney require an appointment. Notaries and Powers of Attorney can be obtained on a walk-in bases. Will executions are completed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, by appointment only. The mission of the Redstone Arsenal Claims Office is to promptly and thoroughly investigate, process, adjudicate, and settle claims on behalf of and against the United States. This program works under the authority conferred by statutes, regulations, international and interagency agreements, and DoD directives. In short, this program provides compensation for personnel injury or property damage caused by Army or DoD personnel; Claims processed in this office include: tort claims, affirmative claims, article 139 claims, real estate claims and personnel claims. Claims are accepted on a walk-in basis, you do not need an appointment. However, if you would like to speak with a particular examiner, paralegal, or claims attorney, calling to ensure that the particular person will be available to assist you is recommended, (256) 876-3995. The claims office is open: Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
The Criminal Law Division effectively and efficiently administers the Uniform Code of Military Justice and federal law, producing a result that justly addresses misconduct by Soldiers or civilians on Redstone Arsenal and supports the mission of Redstone units. Services The Criminal Law Division of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate provides legal support to the Chain of Command for all matters related to maintaining good order and discipline within their units and on the Redstone Arsenal Installation. Legal support provided by the Criminal Law Division includes processing of Administrative Separations under AR 635-200 and AR 600-8-24, preparation of Articles 15 pursuant to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), and prosecuting all Courts-Martial on behalf of the Command. This also includes government representation at U.S. Federal District Court for felony, misdemeanor, and traffic offenses committed at Redstone Arsenal. The Chain of Command should first call their respective trial counsel or designated legal representative for all military justice questions and actions. This includes questions related to searches for criminal evidence, seizures of evidence, conducting criminal investigations, and honoring the rights afforded to all Soldiers under Article 31(b) of the UCMJ. Commanders should conduct conversations regarding the preferral and forwarding of charges to any level of court-martial or any other disposition of any case involving alleged criminal misconduct with only their servicing trial counsel or designated legal representative.
