AMCOM honors employees at memorial service

By Nicholas Janeway

The Aviation and Missile Command held a memorial service June 7 to honor 14 AMCOM team members who passed away during the year.

Maj. Gen. Tom O’Connor, AMCOM commander, hosted the annual ceremony in the Bob Jones Auditorium on Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
The honored recipients were from AMCOM G4, the AMCOM Logistics Center, the Security Assistance Management Directorate, Letterkenny Army Depot, Corpus Christi Army Depot, and the U.S. Army Test, Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment Activity.

O’Connor recognized family members, friends and co-workers who were in attendance to honor their loved ones.

“As we stand and listen to the messages, we reflect back on the lives, the contributions and the memories of some incredible people that have impacted us in so many different ways,” he said. “Their contributions to the Army, to your organization, and to each and every one of us are really so special.”

During the ceremony, friends and co-workers shared stories of how each honored employee impacted their lives and how much they will be missed.

“Life is really precious, and their loss will be mourned forever,” O’Connor said. “Their impacts will echo through these hallways for years to come as they carry their memories with us. As we continue our duties every day, they will not be forgotten, and their lives will be forever cherished.”
