The U.S. Army Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Activity Senior Deputy Director Robert Mitchell, presented the 2024 Annual Award for Best Calibration Team in the Army National Guard to the Indiana Army National Guard Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) July 31.
The award recognizes excellence in calibration and repair of TMDE, which is vital to the combat readiness of Army units. For calendar year 2024, the Indiana CSMS calibration team rose to the top among more than 50 CSMS calibration teams and other TMDE operations across the Army National Guard. The team was nominated by the Army National Guard Bureau for recognition by the U.S. Army TMDE Activity.
Throughout 2024, the Indiana CSMS team exceeded Army metrics, achieving 95.5% equipment availability, a delinquency rate of only 1.7%, and a low backlog of 1.5%. The team was also noted for the outstanding accuracy of its master TMDE file, ensuring that thousands of items for multiple units across Indiana were properly identified and recorded.
Brig. Gen. Justin Mann, director of the Joint Staff for the Indiana Army National Guard, attended the ceremony and congratulated the team for its outstanding support to the Indiana Army National Guard. Also in attendance at the award ceremony were:
